Wins From Burnley Score 5-1, Manchester City Up 3rd With 10 Points

JAKARTA - Manchester City won a landslide 5-1 victory over Burnley in Week 6 of the 2025/26 Premier League at the Etihad Stadium. The match was marked by two own goals by Maxime Esteve and two goals from Erling Haaland. With an additional three points, City has now moved up to third with 10 points from six matches.

Meanwhile, Burnley is ranked 17th with only four points from six matches, as quoted from ANTARA, Sunday, September 29.

City opened up a quick advantage in the 12th minute through Maxime Esteve's own goal. The ball vomited as a result of Martin Dubravka's strike from Jeremy Doku actually hit Esteve and went into the Burnley goal.

Burnley was able to equalize in the 38th minute. Jaidon Anthony grabbed Quilindschy Hartman's low cross to beat Gianluigi Donnarumma. The 1-1 score lasted until halftime.

Entering the second half, City appeared more dominant. Matheus Nunes brought the hosts back ahead in the 61st minute through a volley after receiving Haaland's header assist.

Four minutes later, Esteve was unlucky again for scoring a second own goal while trying to cut Nunes' cross.

Haaland then made sure City's landslide victory with a brace at the end of the match. The Norwegian striker scored in the 90th minute after completing Doku's pass, then added one more goal through a pressing action that led him to take advantage of Esteve and Hjalmar Ekdal's coordination errors. The final score is 5-1 for The Citizens.
