JAKARTA – Mixed doubles pair Amri Syahnawi/Nita Violina Marwah defeated fourth-seeded Guo Xin Wa/Chen Fang Hui to reach the semifinals of the 2025 Korea Open.

They were forced to a three-game match against the Chinese mixed doubles pair, which ended with a score of 11-21, 21-17, and 21-16 on Friday, September 26, 2025, at noon WIB.

This victory gives Amri/Nita a 2-1 win-loss record. Amri/Nita's only previous win came in their first competitive encounter in the round of 16 of the 2025 Thailand Open.

"First of all, I'm grateful that we were given the win today. We're already in the semifinals, so let's focus on recovery because it was quite tiring for both of us," said Amri after the match.

This is Amri/Nita's third semifinal match this year. They previously reached this stage at the Thailand Open in May and the Macau Open in July.

In the semifinals, Amri/Nita will face a tough test against top-seeded Feng Yan Zhe/Huang Dong Ping, who defeated their compatriots Cheng Xing/Zhang Chi.

"Tomorrow we'll face the top-seeded Chinese pair, Feng/Huang. They have incredible focus and are not easily disturbed. This is what we must be wary of," said Nita.

On paper, Amri/Nita have never won in their two competitive encounters against Feng/Huang. Both losses came this year, at the Thailand Open and the Malaysia Masters, respectively.

Amri/Nita are the only remaining mixed doubles pair in this BWF Super 500 tournament out of the three representatives fielded.

The other two pairs that have been eliminated are Jafar Hidayatullah/Felisha Alberta Nathaniel Pasaribu and Adnan Maulana/Indah Cahya Sari Jamil.
