Calculations Of F1 2025, Max Verstappen Still Has A Chance To Win The Fifth World In A Row

JAKARTA Max Verstappen's hope to win his fifth consecutive title in F1 came back to life after he managed to win two consecutive series.

The Red Bull Racing racer secured his latest victory at the 2025 Azerbaijan Grand Prix F1, to be precise at the Baku City Circuit, on Sunday, September 21, 2025.

Prior to that, the four-time world champion won in Italy, beating the duo McLaren, Oscar Piastri and Lando Norris, who consecutively sat in first and second place in the drivers' standings.

Despite successfully cutting significant points, Verstappen refused to expect a lot of comebacks and won the title at the end of the season.

"I refuse to rely on hope, but there are still seven rounds left. (The difference) is a lot of 69 points. So, I personally don't think about (being able to make a comeback)," Verstappen said as quoted by Crash.

The Dutch-Belgium blood racer dominated the streets of the race at the Baku City Circuit to win his fourth victory this season.

On the other hand, the leader of the Oscar Piastri standings had an accident and could not add points, while Norris was only able to finish in seventh place, the same position as the start.

Victory in Baku made Verstappen now collect 255 points and sit in third place in the drivers' standings. So, mathematically he still has a chance to win the world at the end of the competition later.

Verstappen said he would try to maintain the best consistency possible in the remainder of the season without expecting much in the final series in Abu Dhabi later.

"I'm just going through racing after racing, what I've been doing all season, just trying to do the best we can, trying to score as many points as possible," he said.

The most prestigious car race will next be held in Singapore. The peak of the race at the Marina Bay Street Circuit will be held on October 5, 2025.
