Minister of Culture Fadli Zon called Immanuel Charity Golf Open a collaboration of sports and culture (doc. Special).

JAKARTA - The golf tournament titled Immanuel Charity Golf Open was officially opened by the Minister of Culture (Menbud) Fadli Zon on Thursday, September 18, 2025.

The event held by the GPIB Congregation Council, Immanuel Jakarta, was not just a golf event. This activity became a real action to preserve the Immanuel Church, a cultural heritage building that was established since the colonial era and is still strong today.

"We are currently compiling a historical storyline of the Immanuel Church as a cultural heritage that has remained extraordinary until now," said Culture Minister Fadli Zon when opening the Immanuel Charity Golf Open 1st Series 2025 at Pondok Indah Golf, Jakarta, Thursday, September 18, 2025.

For the first time, this event is contesting the Minister of Culture's Circular Cup which will be competed for three consecutive years.

Menbud Fadli handed over the trophy to the committee chairman as a symbol of sportsmanship and togetherness, as well as a commitment to maintaining unity through culture.

Chairman of the GPIB Congregation Council Immanuel Jakarta Rev. Abraham Ruben Persang, Chairman of the Committee for the TNI Laksda (Ret.) Johnny Awuy, Advisor Tilly Kasenda, sponsors, partners, congregants, and Director of Cultural Heritage of the Ministry of Education and Culture I Made Dharma Suteja were also present.

Menbud Fadli emphasized that this synergy of sports and culture shows the presence of the state together with the community in preserving cultural heritage.

"Hopefully this activity inspires all of us to continue to be enthusiastic about carrying out charity activities. Good luck in exercising," he said.
