Indonesia Super League: Bruno Tubarao's Debut Earns One Goal For Persija

JAKARTA - Persija Jakarta maintain their unbeaten record at BRI Super League 2025/2026 after their player Bruno Tubarao's debut goal ended in a 1-1 draw against Bali United at the Jakarta International Stadium (JIS), North Jakarta, Sunday.

In the first half, Persija controlled the game more, but Bali appeared effective with its counter-attack scheme.

In the 8th minute, Allano had a golden opportunity when he made a close-range shot, but was still well saved by Bali goalkeeper Mike Hauptmeijer.

Ten minutes later, Bali shocked the host public when they were able to tear Persija's goal net through Mirza Mustific's header. The striker from Luxembourg scored a goal after using a measured pass from Thijman Gadeli.

After that goal, the Kemayoran Tigers had the opportunity to equalize in the 29th minute when they got a free kick inside the Bali penalty box. However, Maxwell's shot still failed to cross the life fence of Johnny Jansen's team. The first half ended for Bali's 1-0 advantage.

Entering the second half, Persija further increased the intensity of their attacks. It didn't take long for them to score in the 55th minute when Bruno Tubarao beat Hauptmeijer through his hard kick to make the score change to 1-1. This goal occurred shortly after the big chance from Maxwell was blocked by Andhika Wijaya.

In the 63rd minute, Maxwell got another big chance. However, it seems that tonight's "lucky luck" hasn't overseeed him after his shot was saved by Hauptmeijer.

A few minutes later, it was Hanif Sjahbandi's turn to get a golden opportunity in a three-on-three situation, but unfortunately his hard right foot shot was off the mark.

Coach Mauricio Souza included Witan Sulaiman in the 77th minute to replace Hanif. The 23-year-old player's entry further increased the attack of the Kemayoran Tigers.

But again, Hauptmeijer was still too difficult to beat after the Dutch goalkeeper thwarted two chances by Witan in the 81st and 90+3 minutes.

Until the end of the match, the score 1-1 did not change. Persija still maintains a record unbeaten in the Super League with Borneoyang today won against PSIM Yogyakarta with a score of 3-1.

Persija collected 11 points from five matches in second place, the difference of one point from Borneo who remained at the top of the standings with 12 points from four matches.

In the next match, Persija will play away against PSM Makassar on Sunday (21/9), while Bali, which now occupies the ninth position with six points, will play at home against PSIM Yogyakarta's visitors on Saturday (20/9).
