Hong Kong Open 2025: Adnan/Indah Indonesia's Last Hope

Adnan Maulana/Indah Cahya Sari Jamil became the sole representative of Indonesia in the semifinals of the Hong Kong Open 2025 (doc. PBSI).

JAKARTA The mixed doubles Adnan Maulana/Indah Cahya Sari Jamil are Indonesia's only hope left in the 2025 Hong Kong Open tournament.

The pair secured tickets for the semifinals after beating the host's fifth seed, Tang Chun Man/Tse Ying Suet, in three games 13-21, 21-19, and 21-18 on Friday, September 12, 2025, night WIB.

Adnan admitted that reaching the semifinals was an unexpected result after they started the quarter-final match less convincingly.

"Actually, from the start we didn't play well, I'm not sure actually because the big eight is a pressure on us."

"How many times have you knocked in the top eight. So, his thoughts seem less confident and tense, but fortunately in the second set we can turn things around," he said.

In addition, the factor against the host's representative is also one of the burdens that Adnan / Indah must face. The reason is, the majority of the audience must provide support for Tang / Tse.

"The host's opponent must have been a little disturbed by supporters, but this is not a big problem and again the problem is that the pressure of the last eight is always lost," said Adnan.

Adnan/Indah next in the semifinals on Saturday, September 13, 2025, will face Guo Xin Wa/Chen Fang Hui. The sixth seed from China went to the semifinals after beating first seed Jiang Zhen Bang/Wei Ya Xin, who is also from China.

"Tomorrow is more focused, can control the situation more, and control yourself," said Indah.

Unfortunately, Adnan/Indah's journey failed to be followed by the men's singles, Alwi Farhan. His journey was stopped after losing to China Taipei's singles, Chou Tien Chen.
