Hall Of Fame Premier League 2025: Giggs Hasn't Come In Yet, Troubled Players Are Even Nominated

JAKARTA - The list of English League Hall of Fame nominations for 2025 has been announced. Former Chelsea stars, Cesc Fabregas and Eden Hazard, are on the list with former Manchester City star David Silva.

Interestingly, Manchester United legend Ryan Giggs is still not in even though he still holds a record 13 Premier League champions. According to ESPN reports, he has not even been contacted.

Giggs, who retired at the end of the 2013/2014 season, has allegations of coercion or control behavior against his former partner and attacks on his sister which were canceled by the Crown Prosecution Service in July 2023.

Officially, he was found not guilty after the jury failed to reach his verdict in his first trial in August 2022.

Apart from that, former Red Devils defender Gary Neville, Patrice Evra, and Nemanja Vidic are on the nomination list.

Shifting to Liverpool, there were two of their former strikers who were nominated, namely Michael Owen and Robbie Fowler.

Then, Tottenham Hotspur was represented by Jermain Defoe and Les Ferdinand.

Meanwhile, Teddy Sheringham and Sol Campbell, who controversially moved from Spurs to Arsenal, are also on the list.

Former Arsenal players Tony Adams and Ian Wright, who were each sworn in in Hall of Fame in 2023 and 2022, were both elected despite previously serving prison terms.

This reminds John Terry. The former Chelsea captain was shortlisted last year despite being banned from playing for four games and was fined 220,000 pounds by the FA Commission (British Football Federation) in 2012 for racial abuse against QPR defender Anton Ferdinand.

Yaya Toure and Manchester United's mainstay under Sir Alex Ferguson - who was also inducted into the Premier League Hall of Fame two years ago - Michael Carrick and goalkeeper Edwin van der Sar complete the list of 15 players.

The 2025 nominees have collected 44 league titles and shared more than 5,000 appearances and 1,000 Premier League goals.

The English League Hall of Fame was introduced in 2021. Since then, there have been 24 members, including two new players to be added this year.

The two players sworn in for 2025 will be decided by public vote, with the results announced on November 4, 2025.
