Odegaard's Future In Madrid Depends On Modric

JAKARTA - While we are still waiting for the 2019/2020 season to return, Real Madrid have turned their attention to the future of Luka Modric and Martin Odegaard. And apparently, they are intrinsically connected.

Odegaard has been one of the best players in La Liga with Real Sociedad this season, and he has agreed to stay with La Real for two seasons on loan.

But MARCA reported Friday 24 April that many believed it was a formality as Los Blancos would call him home just over a year earlier in the summer.

At the moment, the situation is that if Modric decides to stay in the Spanish capital, then Odegaard will spend his second season at San Sebastian, but if the Croatian leaves, then Odegaard will return to the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu.

Modric has one season left on his contract and his form has been on the decline over the past 12 months. However, there are clubs who are interested in signing him.

A few months ago, Modric was close to a move to AC Milan. But the departure of his close friend, Zvonimir Boban, from his post as director of football postponed the opportunity.

Another possibility if Modric wants to change clubs is Inter Miami in MLS. Currently David Beckham is still trying to strengthen the squad in his team's expansion year.
