Antony Ready To Join Real Betis After Deal With Manchester United Achieved

JAKARTA - Manchester United and Real Betis have agreed on a permanent contract worth 25 million euros (around Rp480 billion) for Antony.

After the move was delayed on Friday, August 29, 2025, the deal was reached on the last day of the transfer market. Betis is willing to pay a fixed fee of 22 million euros plus a potential bonus of 3 million euros.

Manchester United will also get 50 percent of each transfer in the future.

Antony still has a two-year contract remaining from the five-year contract he signed upon arrival from Ajax in 2022, but the Red Devils don't have to pay extra fees to the Brazilian forward.

The 25-year-old left Old Trafford after making 96 appearances in three years and scoring 12 goals.

He hasn't played for Manchester United since January 2025 and spent the second half of last season on loan at Betis.

His performance with La Liga team, scoring nine goals in 26 games, has convinced them to make him permanent. He will undergo medical tests before completing a personal deal.

Antony remains Manchester United's second most expensive signing after Paul Pogba after a 86 million move from Ajax.

He was not included in Ruben Amorim's squad for pre-season tours in the United States and has been training separately at Carrington with other marginalized members, including Jadon Sancho and Mariju Malacia.
