Suarez Tampak Meludahi Staf Sounders Dalam Kekalahan Inter Miami Di Leagues Cup

JAKARTA - Inter Miami striker Luis Suarez was seen spat on a Seattle Sounders staff after his team lost 0-3 in the 2025 League Cup (Leagues Cup) final at Lumen Field, Monday, September 1, 2025 WIB.

The atmosphere heated up at the end of the match, both teams were involved in pushing in the field after the final whistle sounded.

When the two teams began to separate, a camera caught Suarez in an argument with a Sounders staffer.

Videos on social media then spread showing the player from Uruguay leaning his body at the Sounders staff and spat on his face.

Miami goalkeeper Oscar Ustari stood between Suarez and the staff. The two sides then separated.

However, the Seattle Sounders coach declined to comment on the incident. He prefers to bring his troops with euphoria with the trophy they have gone on.

"Unfortunately, it will distract from Seattle Sounders' great performances. Their players are frustrated and that's causing some things on the pitch that shouldn't happen."

"I'm going to close it because that shouldn't be the story. The story of the game, it wasn't what happened after the game."

"I spoke quietly with Messi on the pitch (after the game). We talked and tried to put it aside. That's the story," said Seattle coach Brian Shmetzer, after the match.

Apart from that, Suarez is closely related to several incidents. Since he was still active in European football, he has committed controversial actions.

For example, at the 2014 World Cup when he seemed to bite Italy defender Giorgio Chiellini, in a Group D match in Brazil.
