Calvin Verdonk's Busy Schedule: Netherlands, France, Then To Indonesia

Calvin Verdonk is very busy changing countries to complete the transfer process and end joining the Indonesian National Team (VOI/Karisa Aurelia Tukan).

JAKARTA - Calvin Verdink must face a busy schedule following a move from NEC Nijmegen to Ligue 1 club LOSC Lille.

On Monday, September 1, 2025, Verdonk even had to be in three countries, namely the Netherlands, France, and Indonesia.

Although not yet officially announced, Verdonk will definitely be anchored to Ligue 1 club Lille. He is currently undergoing medical tests to complete the contract process for his new club.

Before undergoing a medical test, Verdonk even had time to appear for NEC Nijmegen against Fortuna Sittard. After the medical test, Verdonk also had to continue his long journey from France to Indonesia.

Verdonk will join the Indonesian national team in Surabaya. His staff is needed for two test matches against China Taipei and Lebanon at the Gelora Bung Tomo Stadium.

"I will be there (ille in France) soon, then tomorrow (Monday) I will undergo a medical test," said Verdonk after the match against Fortuna Sittard at the Eredivisie, as reported by the Dutch ESPN, Monday, September 1, 2025.

"I have to go to Indonesia for international matches on Monday night. That's why I brought two suitcases (for an away match against Fortuna Sittard)," he said.

Lille and NEC have agreed with the transfer value of three million euros or the equivalent of IDR 57.9 billion for Verdok. Playing in Lille will be a different challenge for the left-back because it is a team that is used to competing at the top of Ligue 1.

On the other hand, Verdonk must also defend the Indonesian national team which is scheduled to face China Taipei on September 5, 2025, then fight Lebanon on September 8, 2025.

The two trials on FIFA Matchday are preparations ahead of the 2026 World Cup Qualification Fourth Round of the Asian Zone against Iraq and Saudi Arabia in October 2025.
