Miliano Jonathans Is Snatched By Indonesian Citizens On September 4, Will Be Lowered Against Taiwan

JAKARTA - Indonesian naturalized player from the Netherlands, Miliano Jonathans, will be sworn in as an Indonesian citizen (WNI) on Thursday (4/9) in Jakarta.

This assurance was conveyed by the Director General of General Legal Administration (AHU) of the Ministry of Law, Widodo, at the office of the Ministry of Law, Jakarta, Sunday.

"The plan is for the 4th (September) to be scheduled for an oath in Jakarta," said Widodo, after the ceremony to take the oath of Indonesian citizens (WNI), at the Ministry of Law and Human Rights, Sunday.

Milliano did not participate in the inauguration ceremony of Indonesian citizens along with four other Indonesian diaspora players, namely Mauro Zijlstra, Pauline total van de Pol,ori Corian Kopp, and Isabella Nottet at the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia, The Hague, on Friday (29/8).

At that time, Milliano was still strengthening his team, FC Utrecht, who played against HSK Zrinjski Mostar at the Galgenwaard Stadium, Utrecht, on the same day.

After the official process of taking the oath of Indonesian citizens, 21-year-old players will still have to follow the process of transferring the federation from KNVB to PSSI, before being able to really defend the Indonesian national team.

Milliano is said to have been approached by PSSI to be naturalized since he was 16 years old, or since 2020. After going through a long process, it was clear for Milliano to become an Indonesian citizen to be brighter in August 2025, after Commission X of the Indonesian House of Representatives approved a request for naturalization of Milliano and Mauro Zijlstra.

He is projected to be able to strengthen the Indonesian national team in the FIFA Match Day match which took place in September.

Indonesia will play their first FIFA Match Day match against Taiwan on September 5, then meet Lebanon on September 8. The two matches, which are also a test event for the Asian zone 2026 World Cup fourth round matches, will be played at the Gelora Bung Tomo Stadium, Surabaya.
