Officially Joins Persib, Thom Haye: Can't Wait To Compete In Bandung

JAKARTA - The naturalized midfielder of the Indonesian national team, Thom Haye, has finally officially joined Persib Bandung. Winning the status of a player without a club, he was enthusiastic to appear immediately for Maung Bandung.

Persib Bandung officially announced the recruitment of the Indonesian national team star, Thom Haye on Wednesday, August 27, 2025, afternoon WIB. The announcement of Haye's arrival as a new player was also carried out in a unique way, namely through a news broadcast on TVRI, West Java.

After being inaugurated as a new player for Maung Bandung, Haye also revealed his first impression. After greeting Bobotoh, he was enthusiastic to be able to compete immediately.

"Hello Bobotoh, Thom Haye is here. I am enthusiastic about joining Persib and can't wait to compete in Bandung, go Persib Maung Bandung," said Thom Haye after being inaugurated.

The former Almere City player will become the center line general of Persib who is the creator of the team's attack.

Haye's figure is known as a tough defensive midfielder, intelligent in reading the game, and good at keeping the rhythm in midfield, a quality that makes him trusted to defend the Dutch National Team from U-15 to U-21 before finally choosing to dress up for Garuda.

Haye's professional career is fairly mature. He made his senior debut with AZ Alkmaar in 2012, then strengthened Willem II Tilburg (2016-2018), ADO Den Hague (2019-2020), NAC Breda (2020-2022), Heerenveen (2022-2024), until finally with Almere City in the 2024/2025 season.

For more than a decade he has consistently played at the Eredivisie level, making him one of the midfielders with a complete international experience.

With this background, Haye comes not only as an additional technical force, but also as a symbol of Persib's ambition to compete at the domestic and Asian levels.
