The Indonesian U-16 Women's National Team will appear in the 2025 AFF Putri U-16 Cup (doc. PSSI).

JAKARTA - The U-16 Indonesian Women's National Team will start the struggle in the 2025 U-16 Women's AFF Cup (ASEAN U-16 Girls Championship 2025) at Manahan Stadium, Solo.

Indonesia hosted the 2025 U-16 Women's AFF Cup. All matches took place in Surakarta, Central Java. The fields used are Manahan Stadium and Sriwedari Stadium.

The inaugural match of the U-16 Indonesian Women's National Team will be played against Timor Leste U-16 on Wednesday, August 20, 2025, at 19.30 WIB, at Manahan Stadium.

The coach of the Indonesian U-16 Women's National Team, Timo Scheunemann, emphasized the mental aspect ahead of the match.

"At the age of 16, the players change. The most important mentality, does not underestimate, nor is it down. You see, the strength of the senior team and juniors is different."

"I'm not afraid, but I also don't underestimate it. So, if you are asked who is the most wary of, everyone is the same asURE," said Timo.

However, the figure who had been coach of Persema Malang and Persiba Balikpapan continued to carry optimism at this age group level.

"So, the target is not there, but from ourselves. Where are there coaches or players who want to lose. They are the winners who have been selected in stages, we get the best at 16 points."

"That's why we have players from Papua, Ternate, Bali, and Java. We should be grateful because we have potential players. However, everyone must be patient, not be equated with seniors. Some of them are the first time participating in a tournament. So, we have to be patient, that's all," said Timo.
