Persik Kediri Fails To Key To Victory After Being Equated By Bali United In Minutes 90+6

GIANYAR - Bali United had to settle for sharing points after drawing 1-1 against Persik Kediri in the inaugural match of BRI Liga 1 2025/2026 at the Captain I Wayan Dipta Stadium, Gianyar, Bali, Sunday, August 10 evening.

The match, which was attended by 10,302 spectators, took place at a high tempo. The home team, nicknamed Serdadu Tridatu, created many opportunities but failed to take advantage of them into victory.

Bali United had opened the scoring in the 30th minute through Joao Ferrari. However, the goal was disallowed by the referee after seeing VAR replays showing an offside position.

Persik Kediri actually took the lead through Telmo Castanheira's goal in the 78th minute. His measured shot was beyond the anticipation of Bali United goalkeeper Mike Hauptmeijer.

Persik's victory, which was in sight, finally broke during injury time. Bali United striker Boris Kopitovic scored the equalizer in the 90+6 minute after a chaos occurred in front of Leonardo Navacchio's goal.

Bali United coach, Johnny Jansen, admitted that he was disappointed with the results.

"I'm a little disappointed because we should have got three points. We have a lot of chances," he said at a press conference after the match.

Persik coach, Ong Kim Swee, also expressed his disappointment that his team failed to maintain their lead.

It feels mixed. Bali United is a pretty good team from all positions, the technique is also good. But we lost two points, especially since there is quite a lot of extra time, this is a bit disappointing," said the Malaysian coach.

With this result, both teams collected one point to start the new League 1 season.
