Khabib Orders Conor McGregor To Repent

JAKARTA Former UFC arena champion and legend Khabib Nurmagomedov told his former rival Conor McGregor to immediately repent and take a new way of life.

McGregor's way of life went dark after suffering a painful defeat against Khabib in the UFC 229 in October 2018. One of them was caught in a rape case.

Khabis said that McGregor was not too late to improve himself and live a new, better life, far from the various cases that made it difficult for himself.

"This is a punishment from God. However, the most beautiful part of God always gives the opportunity to rise again. I think he has a chance. He must change the way he lives," said Khabib, followed by ESPN.

McGregor was one of the most successful fighters of his time, especially after he won two belts from two different divisions. However, everything changed after the defeat against Khabib.

After the defeat, McGregor had three more fights. Starting from the victory over Donald Cerrone in UFC 246 on January 18, 2020 in Las Vegas.

He then suffered two defeats against Dustin Poirier, each in UFC 257 and 264. In the second defeat, McGregor even broke his leg which made him absent until now.

"If he wants to change, he can also change many other lives. That's why I wish he could change."

"If he doesn't want to change, it will be a sentence throughout his life," Khabib said.

McGregor was recently ordered to pay a large fine for the alleged rape of Nikita Hand. The Irish fighter then filed an appeal, but was rejected.

Rumors regarding McGregor's possibility of returning to the octagon are blowing. Most recently, he has registered a mandatory UFC doping test, which is a strong signal to return to fighting.
