JAKARTA - William Saliba has warned Arsenal rivals in the Premier League that playing against Viktor Gyokeres is scary.
The defender also supported the new striker to end Arsenal's wait for the trophy.
Gyokeres completed a 63 million euro move from Sporting CP last week - with a total value of up to 73.5 million euros including additional costs - and immediately flew to Singapore to take part in the Gunners pre-season tour in Asia.
Arsenal have brought in six new players in the summer in an effort to win their first trophy since the 2020 FA Cup. Saliba believes Gyokeres can be Arsenal's capital to make that dream come true.
You see, Saliba knows very well the quality of the Swedish player who made it difficult for the Gunners to beat Sporting 5-1 in November 2024.

"We know how great he is, playing against him is scary. Of course, I am very happy to have him at the club. I am sure he will help us win matches and trophies."
"(He's scary) because when you face a striker who scores, you have to focus!"
"However, now he is in our team. He will score for us, so that's good."
"Every year is different. We have to learn from the last three seasons. Of course, we are lucky to have the opportunity to compete in the Premier League again and try to win."
"Our mindset is to win the Premier League. We will give everything from the first game."
"We have a lot of new players and hopefully they will help us win the league," Saliba said.
Gyokeres will start training with their new team-mates this week.
Arsenal will fly to Hong Kong on Tuesday, July 29, 2025, where they will face Tottenham Hotspur in their final tour.
Saliba also gave the latest positive news about her contract situation as she entered the final year of her existing contract.
Reports in Spain say Real Madrid are interested in signing the 24-year-old defender, but ESPN says Arsenal officials believe talks about contract extensions are going well.
"Yes, hopefully. Of course, there's nothing right now, but there's good talks with my agent and the club. We'll see," he said when asked if he would sign a new contract.
