JAKARTA - Basketball player Ramot Gemilang wants Dewa United Banten to be able to break Pelita Jaya's dominance when they meet in the final round of the Indonesia Basketball League (IBL) 2025.

Dewa United and Pelita Jaya are scheduled to start the first game in the final round of Indonesia's highest level league on Thursday, July 17, 2025, at the Dewa United Arena, Tangerang, Banten.

He said he was happy to return to the final for the third time in his career. He also hopes that this season's journey can bear fruit.

"I'm really happy to be able to go to the final, especially Dewa United, a new team. Bringing this team to the final is different, it feels like it was in Aspac first. I hope this year we can take this trophy," he said.

Dewa United reached the final round after defeating RANS Simba Bogor 2-1 in the best-of-three system. This is the first final in the team's history.

Previously, Dewa United's furthest journey in this competition was twice the semifinals, which were won in consecutive seasons in 2023 and 2024.

Kehibuh mengatakan bahwa melawan Pelita Jaya di final tentu merupakan tantangan berat bagi mereka, terutama tim tersebut punya tradisi masuk ke babak final dan juara dalam dua edisi terakhir.

"On average, we are older, but obviously we have more experience. In my opinion, to beat a team as strong as them who have played in the final five times in a row, skill alone is not enough, but playing smart too," said Embar.

Pelita Jaya reached the IBL finals this season after successfully stopping Satria Muda, the team they managed to stop in last season's final match.

Dewa United and Pelita Jaya will duel in the final round in the best-of-three system. The second game match will take place on Saturday, July 19, 2025.

If each of them can secure a win in two games, a third game is needed to determine the winner, which will take place on Sunday, July 20, 2025.
