Dewa United Makes History, First Time Reaching The IBL Final

Dewa United Banten qualified for the 2025 IBL final round after stopping RANS Simba Bogor (doc. Dewa United).

JAKARTA Dewa United Banten made history reaching the final round of the Indonesia Basketball League (IBL) for the first time after defeating RANS Simba Bogor.

Dewa United secured tickets to the final round after winning 98-78 over RANS Simba in the semifinal third game at Dewa United Arena, Tangerang, on Sunday, July 13, 2025.

This victory ensured that Dewa United won 2-1 in a match with the best-of-three semifinal system and officially stepped into the 2025 IBL final.

"I want to congratulate RANS on an extraordinary season. They performed great and finished at the top of the standings. So they deserve credit," said Dewa United coach Pablo Favarel.

The main star in this victory is Joshua Ibarra who scored double-double with a record of 31 points, 21 rebounds, and two assists. This appearance made Ibarra also named Player of the Game.

Important contributions also came from Ramot Gemilang who contributed 18 points, as well as Jordan Adams with 13 points and five rebounds. Gelvis Solano again showed his vision of playing through 10 points and seven assists.

"They really don't want to lose, they have a big impact on the pitch and do a great job," Pablo said.

In the final round, Dewa United will challenge the defending champions Pelita Jaya. The team secured the final round ticket after defeating Satria Muda Pertamina Jakarta.

The final first game between Dewa United will take place at the Dewa United Arena on Thursday, July 17, 2025. The second match will take place on Saturday, July 19, 2025.

The match will take place with the best-of-three system. If one wins in the first two games then it will win. If not, then the match will continue into the third game.
