Manchester United Increases Offers For Mbeumo

JAKARTA - Manchester United have returned to Brentford with a new offer for winger Bryan Mbeumo.

According to ESPN reports, the Red Devils have indicated that they are willing to pay a fee of more than 60 million pounds -- with a higher proportion having to be paid upfront -- and close to Brentford's value, around 65 million pounds, for the Cameroonian international.

Negotiations between the two clubs have been going on for weeks and have increased again over the weekend.

Tottenham Hotspur has also expressed interest in Mbeumo after the appointment of Thomas Frank as a replacement for Ange Postecoglou.

You see, Brentford is most likely more approved of compromise with the Red Devils over Mbeumo valuation - as well as the appropriate payment structure - and added the 25-year-old to Ruben Amorim's squad before the pre-season tour in the United States.

Meanwhile, Manchester United have been offered the opportunity to revive their interest in Christopher Nkunku. The Frenchman is eager to find a way out of Chelsea this summer.

The Red Devils expressed interest in Nkunku in January 2025 when the striker appeared in a conversation with Chelsea about the deal for winger Alejandro Garnacho.

The deal didn't materialize, but Manchester United was again informed of Nkunku's availability as they looked for strikers.

They have lost Liam Delap, who has moved to Stamford Bridge. The situation exacerbated Nkunku's chances of getting regular playing time.

The 27-year-old went through a tough time at Chelsea after moving from RB Leipzig in 2023, scoring only six Premier League goals in two years.

Although rumors of his departure circulated, Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca still confirmed that Nkunku remained at Stamford Bridge.

"Christo is with us. He is our player. To be honest, he has played very well in the last four or five days."

"So maybe we can also consider giving him some opportunities," Maresca said at a press conference Monday, June 23, 2025.
