Havertz's 2 Goals In Chelsea Vs Fulham Match Are Assets For The Blues Against Madrid

JAKARTA - Thomas Tuchel said he was satisfied with the attitude shown by Kai Havertz when Chelsea beat Fulham 2-0 in the Premier League at Stamford Bridge, London, Saturday.

Havertz was one of five changes Tuchel made for the match against Fulham as a rotational move to rest a number of players ahead of Wednesday's Champions League semi-final second leg against Real Madrid.

"It was a perfect match. I am very happy and this team gets full credit for the results of the match," said Tuchel.

"It's a big win. Now we leave it with a cool head, no regrets, and focused on preparing for Wednesday's game."

Tuchel praised Havertz's streak of scoring the two-goal winner against Fulham, as an example, he would like to see from Chelsea players.

"For me, he is an individual example of the good things of the players who played today, who probably had an unpleasant decision for them last Tuesday," said Tuchel.

"Kai's attitude during play does not convey the thought 'now they need me' or 'I want more minutes to play at Madrid' or 'why do I only play against Fulham?'"

"He takes advantage of opportunities that come and that's what we need every time, but especially in situations like this. We need players who are fully committed".

"That means if you get the chance, you are doing well. If you only have five minutes, 15 minutes, or the full 90 minutes, show you are ready to play and make the team manager confused about choosing the next match".

"That was all done by Havertz and his colleagues. That is why this team gets full credit from me for the results," concluded Tuchel.

The win over Fulham confirmed Chelsea's position in the race for the top four of the table, gripping fourth with 61 points ahead of West Ham United.
