Inter Grabs The 19th Scudetto, Officially Champions Italy After Atalanta Is Held 1-1 At Sassuolo

JAKARTA - Inter Milan officially won the Scudetto or Italian League title this season after Atalanta failed to win at Sassuolo headquarters in Week 34 of Serie A, Sunday night.

Inter, who played a day earlier, beat Crotone by 2-0 at Ezio Scida on Sunday.

Even though the victory hasn't officially made Inter the Scudetto, the result confirms two things.

First, Inter send Crotone relegated to Serie B for next season, because with 18 points currently the caretaker team can only collect 30 points in the remaining four games, which is not enough to get out of the relegation zone.

Second, Inter overthrew the Juventus dynasty, which for the last nine seasons has dominated the Scudetto title. Because the Old Lady's chances of winning are no longer there, as is the case with Napoli and AC Milan, which this season optimally only won 81 points or one point less than Inter's total provisional achievement.

The only team likely to tackle Inter's scudetto title is Atalanta, who are 14 points behind.

But Atalanta only drew 1-1 against Sassuolo at the Mapei Stadium on Sunday night and Inter were confirmed to have won their 19th Scudetto title, which was last won 11 years ago.
