JAKARTA The Indonesian Olympic Committee (NOC Indonesia) decided to take part in showing pencak silat in the Gala Dinner Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) General Assembly 2025.
There are only six countries that are given the opportunity to appear out of a total of 45 OCA member countries. The dance presentation from Etoile Dancer presented by Indonesia was also one of the things that caught the eye at the end of the series of events.
"Of course we are honored to be trusted to present one of our best performances. We present beautiful Indonesian cultural performances, including pencak silat," said NOC Indonesia President Raja Sapta Oktohari.
Not only featuring Indonesia, but also cultural collaboration in Southeast Asia, both from sports to costumes worn by dancers.

The Executive Committee of NOC Indonesia Josephine Tampubolon added that the presence of Etoile Dancer at General Assembley OCA was Indonesia's active contribution to OCA.
"Every time Indonesia participates in the event, it does not want to be only a guest, but also contributes to show our existence in Asia and internationally," said Josephine.
The appearance, which was worked on by the Art Director of Etoile Dancerulan Lukman, emphasized the importance of conveying Indonesian cultural messages in an artistic and in-depth manner.

Assistant Director & Choreographer Cepi Gunawan added that the show also integrated martial arts elements from Southeast Asian countries to strengthen the narrative of regionality.
"We are looking for a common thread so that Southeast Asian culture can unite in the spirit of pencak silat. Thank God everything went smoothly, the message of Indonesian culture was warmly received," said Cepi.
