YOGYAKARTA - Gresik Petrokimia Pupuk Indonesia's women's team finally ranked third in the 2025 PLN Mobile Proliga. Petrochemical players Maya Indri acknowledged that the competition in the Proliga this season was very tight. This makes him still satisfied with the success of Petrokima in third place.
Petrokimia, which was strengthened by Megawati Hanggetri Pertiwi, had met resistance from Jakarta Electric PLN before finally winning with a score of 3-1 (25-15, 10-25, 25-20.25-21) in the race for third place at GOR Amongrogo, Yogyakarta, Saturday, May 10, 2025.
In that match Petrokimia started very well. Only after winning the first game, they had to lose the second game. Luckily, Jeff Jiang's team was able to get up to win the next two games.
Interestingly, coach Jiang did not completely field Megawati in the crucial match. However, he later revealed that Megawati was prepared when the team was not in a good position in defense or carried out attacks.
"Because the most important thing needed in volleyball is revenue. If the receiver is good, then the game will be good. And, Megawati is part of that strategy," Jiang said.
Meanwhile, Maya Indri said that Megawati's presence was indeed an option to overcome the team's deadlock. "He became an option when the team was in a weak position to block or attack. There was Megawati making our game better," said Maya.
According to him, Petrokimia's success in winning the match was inseparable from the good team's performance. They played without ever giving up and supported each other. Teamwork or team work made Petrokimia able to overcome the pressure in the third and fourth games.
"We lost in the second game because passing didn't go well so the attack didn't go smoothly. In the next game, our attack went smoothly again. We didn't give up and the key was team work. We support each other," said Maya.
"Our Libero is also good at passing. Foreign players show a good game. Likewise there is Megawati and she plays very well," he said again.
"We learned from the game in final four. We were very bad at service and made a lot of mistakes ourselves, especially me. But other players don't blame me. This is what makes me able to get up and appear confident," he said.
Maya said that the competition this season is very tight. The presence of foreign players, which is an average grade A, makes Proliga more qualified.

"This season, many grade A foreign players came here to play in the Proliga. They seem to have received information about Proliga from his colleagues who have played here. And, they are very enthusiastic to come here," he said.
"Frankly, this makes competition even more fierce. I estimate the competition will be fiercer next season if grade A players come back," said Maya.
