Harry Kane 'Eager' To Want A Trophy

JAKARTA - Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane said that he wanted to win the trophy with the team after losing the Carabao Cup final to Manchester City.

Kane is reportedly ready to leave Spurs if they fail to qualify for next season's Champions League, but he will not make any decisions about his future after this summer's European Cup.

Kane himself will be captain of the England national team at the 2020 European Cup, which was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Spurs failed to end their 13-year wait for a trophy after losing the Carabao Cup final at Wembley on Sunday, with Kane still not winning a trophy with them since making his debut in 2011.

The 27-year-old forward only finished runner-up in the EFL Cup twice (2015 and 2021) as well as runner-up in the Champions League two years ago.

In contrast, Kane's former Spurs partner Kyle Walker has won seven major trophies and is likely to reach an eighth after moving to Manchester City.

Kane was named English Premier League Player of the Year at the 2021 London Football Awards on Wednesday.

Although happy to get the award, Kane admits that he prefers to lift the trophy with his team.

"When I look back at the end of my career these are all things I will discuss and take away more, but the aim now as a player is to win team trophies", he told Sky Sports on Wednesday.

"Even though it's great, I want to win the team's biggest prize. We didn't quite do that. It's bittersweet, but it is. I'm proud to win (Premier League Player of the Year), it's been a good season on the pitch".

Kane has netted 21 goals and 13 assists in the English league this season, beating team-mates Heung-Min Son, West Ham duo Declan Rice and Tomas Soucek, and Chelsea's Mason Mount.

"(Heung-Min) Son is amazing", added Kane. "We have a very good connection, a very good understanding. We are playing very well on and off the pitch. We are good friends and I am happy to see him playing well".
