F1 2025 Results: Piastri Wins At Saudi Arabian GP, Controls Driver Standings

JAKARTA McLaren's McLaren's Oscar Piastri won their third victory this season after successfully becoming the fastest in the 2025 Saudi Arabian Grand Prix Formula 1 (F1) race.

Piastri, who started the race from second place, finished the fastest with a time of 1 hour 21 minutes 6,758 seconds at the Corniche International Circuit, Jeddah, on Monday, April 21, 2025, at dawn WIB.

Following in second place is Max Verstappen. The Red Bull driver, who is the defending champion, was able to get a second podium even though he was awarded a penalty of five seconds.

Verstappen was punished for trying to maintain the first position from Piastri illegally by leaving the track at Turn 1. Longitude, he was able to earn 18 additional points.

Verstappen looked annoyed at the penalty and gave a brief interview after the race.

"I'll just talk briefly. Thank you very much to the fans in Jeddah. It's been an incredible weekend along the circuit, and the rest, yes, that's how it is. I'm looking forward to the race in Miami. See you there," he was quoted as saying by the BBC.

Meanwhile, McLaren's Lando Norris managed to bounce back from 10th on the grid after his crash in Kualifikasi and finished fourth behind Ferrari's Charles Leclerc who missed the third podium.

The third win in five races has so far put Piastri at the top of the drivers' standings. He is now 10 points ahead of Norris in second place and 12 points over Verstappen in third place.

Previously, Piastri won last week at the Bahrain International Circuit. He secured another victory at the Chinese Grand Prix at the Shanghai International Circuit, March 2025.
