Mees Hilgers Market Price Skyrockets, Becomes Dutch Media Attention

JAKARTA - Since starting his career as a professional footballer in 2020, Mees Hilgers has continued to experience a surge in achievements that have skyrocketed his market price.

Four days later, the Transfermarkt site recorded a sharp increase in the player's valuation. On May 31, 2024, Hilgers was recorded to have a value of 7 million euros, equivalent to Rp134.1 billion.

After five months, the value rose again to 10 million euros or Rp191.5 billion. But now the figure is back to 7 million euros.

Whereas during the promotion to the FC Twente first team in 2020, Hilgers' valuation was only 75 thousand euros or Rp1.4 billion at the current exchange rate. The 23-year-old defender's valuation increased more than 100 times in four years.

The player's price increase cannot be separated from his consistent performance with FC Twenty. Hilgers has even recorded 100 appearances with the team he has defended since the academy.

Likewise with his career in the international arena, Hilgers has succeeded in becoming the main choice in the Indonesian national team since it was officially naturalized. Even though his appearance was hampered by a hamstring injury, he remained an option in the Garuda Squad.

Hilgers' contract with FC Twenty will expire in June 2026. If you don't sell Hilgers later this season, then Twente will have to release Hilgers for free in 2026.

This condition makes Hilgers now widely associated with a number of top European clubs such as Valencia, Sevilla, Feyenoord, to Como in the Italian League.
