JAKARTA Jorge Martin hopes that he will be able to appear in the Qatar Grand Prix MotoGP race which will take place on 11-13 April 2025 at the Lusail International Circuit.

The Spaniard, who is the defending champion, will definitely miss this season's third Grand Prix which will take place at the Circuit of the Americas (COTA) on March 28-30, 2025.

Thus, he has missed a total of three initial series this season. The two series he couldn't have participated in before were the opening series in Thailand and the second series in Argentina.

"I hope to appear in Qatar, but only if there is no risk. I feel, I will visit after Austin," he said as quoted by the official MotoGP.

The 27-year-old racer's preparation to defend his title this season is haunted by many obstacles. Starting from a highside accident in the Sepang pre-season test.

The problem forced Martin to step on the operating table and prepare to appear in Thailand. However, it happened again which made him undergo a second operation and has been absent until now.

Apart from not being able to take part in the race this season, the injury problem made Martin also have to miss adaptation to his new ride in Aprilia.

However, Martin refused to rush to decide to come back because it would be risky and could make the recovery of his injury much longer.

"Everything happened for a reason. This will make us come back stronger than ever," he said.

Marc Marquez currently sits comfortably at the top of the standings with a collection of 74 points after he won two races earlier this season.
