Welber Jardim Signs Professional Contract With Sao Paulo

JAKARTA Indonesian national team player U-20, Welber Jardim, has officially signed a professional contract with his club, Sao Paulo FC. This opens up opportunities for him to appear in the Brazilian league.

Jardim conveyed the good news through his Instagram social media account on Friday, March 7, 2025 local time.

"A special date when I signed my first professional contract with Sao Paulo. I am very happy because at this time there are memories of how many friends or people I have to thank him for this opportunity," he wrote.

Welber also expressed his gratitude to those closest to him who have accompanied him through his career until he reached the present point.

"I want to thank everyone who is in my life, everyone who helps me in this process directly or indirectly. Let the rest happen naturally. My efforts will never stop. Thank God," he said.

Welfer joined the Sao Paulo academy in 2018. He entered the team after leaving Centro Coroa and previously strengthened the Palmeiras youth team.

As for the Indonesian national team, Welber initially played in the U-17 age group and appeared in the 2023 U-17 World Cup when Indonesia was the host. At that time, Welfer and his friends ran aground in the group phase.

The player who was born in Banjarmasin, April 25, 2007 and the son of former Persiba Balikpapan from Brazil, Elisangelo Jardim de Jesus, is now in the U-20 Indonesian national team.

He was included in the Indonesia U-20 squad that appeared in the 2025 U-20 Asian Cup. Unfortunately, their journey in the tournament ran aground in the group stage.
