Reduced Sentence, Beckham Putra Can Defend Persib Bandung Against Persik Kediri

JAKARTA - The punishment aimed at Beckham Putra is certain to decrease. This makes the player have a chance to defend Persib Bandung when hosting Persik Kediri.

Beckham was previously sentenced to a three-match ban due to the 'cold' celebration in the match against Persija Jakarta.

However, based on a letter issued by the PSSI's Appeal Commission (Komding), the sentence has been reduced to only two matches.

If referring to the new decision, Beckham has already gone through two matches, namely when Persib Bandung faced Madura United and Persebaya Surabaya.

This means that in the match against Persik Kediri, the player with the number 7 back has been able to strengthen Persib Bandung.

Regarding Beckham's reduced sentence, this was welcomed by the coach, Bojan Hodak. However, in his statement, the coach still doubts that he can take down Beckham.

Although there was no accumulation of punishment, Beckham's condition was doubtful.

"The problem is that he (Beckham Putra) was sick in 2-3 days. So, that's why he didn't look good enough in his first training," said Bojan Hodak in his statement quoted on Wednesday, March 5, 2025.

The Croatian coach admits that he still has to see the progress of Beckham Putra's condition first. He didn't want to force it too much because League 1 still has nine matches left.

"We will see today, how the condition is, I just decided whether he will play as a starter or first be on the bench," he said.

Although Beckham's condition is still doubtful, Bojan Hodak ensures that Maung Bandung is still ready to appear to host Persik Kediri.

Adam Alis is already available. The coach ensured that the injury previously suffered by Adam Alis was not a problem. In fact, the owner of number 18 has already practiced in preparation for Persik.

"This is not something serious, but one thing is that he only feels pain. So, yesterday I rested him from training," said Bojan Hodak.

"The only one who can't play is Agung (Ahmad) because he is a loan player from Kediri," he said.

Persib Bandung will host Persik Kediri in the 26th week of Liga 1 2024/2025 at the Gelora Bandung Stadium, Lautan Api, Wednesday, March 5, 2025, at 20.30 WIB.
