Officially, Inter Milan And Atletico Madrid Withdraw From The European Super League

JAKARTA - Italian club Inter Milan and Spanish club Atletico Madrid have officially announced that they are withdrawing from the controversial European Super League.

On Sunday, April 18, as many as 12 elite European clubs officially became the founding members of the European Super League, which was formed to compete with the UEFA Champions League.

Just two days after that, the six Premier League clubs involved have resigned on Tuesday local time.

Meanwhile, Inter Milan have just announced their retirement from the competition initiated by Real Madrid president Florentino Perez.

"FC Internazionale Milano confirms that the club is no longer part of the Super League project," said an Inter statement on their official website on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, Atletico Madrid stated that their top officials had met and decided to withdraw from the European Super League.

"Atletico de Madrid's board of directors, which met on Wednesday morning, have decided to formally communicate with the Super League and other founding clubs not to continue with the project," said a statement on their official website by Atletico.

"Atletico de Madrid made the decision last Monday to join the project in response to circumstances that do not exist today."
