JAKARTA - Chelsea's female attacker, Sam Kerr, denied calling a policeman the "white skin" used as an insult when she was questioned in court on Friday, February 7, 2025, on racial abuse charges.
Kerr, who is also Australia's captain, spoke on the fourth day of the trial at the Kingston Crown Court, following an incident in London on January 30, 2023.
It is suspected that Kerr and his partner, West Ham United and United States midfielder Kristie Mewis, were drinking when they were escorted to the police station by a taxi driver.
The taxi driver complained that the two female footballers refused to pay cleaning fees after one of them got sick and broke the rear glass of the vehicle.
Kerr, who said he was afraid of his safety as he felt trapped during the taxi trip, allegedly had been rude and insulting to police Stephen Lovell at the police station by calling "stupid and white".

Kerr has admitted to having made the comments, but denies that the comments constitute allegations of racial abuse.
"No, that's not what I meant," Kerr said when asked by prosecutors if he used Lovell's "white skin as an insult" during a heated debate at the police station.
"I believe he used his power and privilege over me because he accused me of something that wasn't myself."
"I try to state that, because of the power and privilege they have, they will never understand what we have just experienced and the fear we feel for our lives," said Kerr, who identified himself as an Anglo-India white person.
The court previously heard that Kerr told the Lovell police "this is a racial issue."
Kerr then commented on this by emphasizing that Lovell first ridiculed him with inappropriate calls.
"I believe (they) treat me differently because of what they think of as my skin tone, especially PC Lovell behavior."
"(It was) because of the way he responded to me, cut my talks, called me inappropriate and ignored me," Kerr said.
Kerr also claimed that his perception was formed by how officers treated him differently from Mewis.
