Cristiano Ronaldo Gets A New Tandem, Jhon Duran Officially Visits Al Nassr

Jhon Duran has officially anchored to Al Nassr in the Saudi Arabian Pro League (Instagram/@avfcofficial).

Jhon Duran has completed his transfer from Aston Villa to Al Nassr as the Saudi Arabia Pro League team strengthens their front line for the second half of the season.

Duran's appearance at Villa has attracted great attention from clubs in Europe and beyond.

The recruitment is seen as an advantage for Stefano Pioli's team, which already have Cristiano Ronaldo and Sadio Mane among their front players.

The 21-year-old has scored 12 goals in 29 games this season for Villa, including impressive long-range goals against Everton in the Premier League and Bayern Munich in the Champions League.

Duran joined the Midlands club from Chicago Fire for 18 million in January 2023, but has repeatedly been linked with a move from Villa Park due toter Watkins' presence on the front lines which kept him out of the team on a regular basis.

Watkins was also linked with his move from Villa in January 2025. However, the release of the Colombian international means Watkins is likely to stay with Unai Emery's team. The Villans have also rejected Arsenal's offer to Watkins.

Duran is a substitute who was not used in Villa's Champions League win over Celtic on Thursday, January 30, 2025, who confirmed eighth place in the group stage standings and one place in the last 16.

"Everyone at Aston Villa wants to wish Jhon the best in the next step in his professional career," Villa said in a statement.

Meanwhile, Villa are interested in recruiting Manchester United striker Marcus Rashford as a loan player before the transfer deadline.

Al Nassr has struggled to compete at the highest level in the Saudi Arabian Pro League this season. They sit in third place in the standings and are eight points behind Al Hilal at the top.

Ronaldo, who has scored 14 goals in 17 seasons, continues to fight for his first Saudi Arabian Pro League title with Al Nassr.
