Ernando Ari Targets Persebaya To Win League 1 And Reach AFC Champions League

Surabaya - Persebaya Surabaya's main goalkeeper, Ernando Ari Sutaryadi, expressed his determination to bring Arek Suroboyo's proud club to win the League 1 title and appear in the international arena such as the AFC Champions League (ACL). He conveyed this after officially signing a contract extension with Bajol Ijo.

"I hope there is only one, I want to bring Persebaya to win League 1 and also appear in international matches such as the AFC," said Ernando in his statement, Saturday, January 25.

Ernando revealed that his reason for staying at Persebaya was due to the emotional bond that had existed since he pursued a career at the junior level in 2017. He admitted that he immediately contacted his parents when he received an offer for a contract extension, before sharing the good news with his colleagues.

"My ambition this year is very big, I want Persebaya to win League 1. If I focus, I believe I can help Persebaya achieve that target," said the goalkeeper who was born in Semarang.

Born on February 27, 2002 in Semarang, Ernando started his career at Persebaya Junior in 2017. His great talent became known to the public after becoming part of the U-16 Indonesian national team who successfully won the 2018 AFF U-16 Cup.

In 2019, Ernando again recorded an achievement by bringing Persebaya U-20 to the U-20 Elite Pro Academy title. This success led him to promotions to the Persebaya senior team in 2020.

As goalkeeper, Ernando is known to have the ability to read sharp games, fast reflexs, and extraordinary calm in the face of pressure. He became the mainstay of Persebaya and the Indonesian national team in various competitions. One of his best achievements is winning the 2023 SEA Games gold medal with the Indonesian national team.

In the 2024/2025 season, Ernando has appeared in 11 Indonesian League 1 matches with Persebaya. His solid performance under the crossbar is one of the keys to Bajol Ijo's strength in navigating this season's competition.

With a high spirit and experience that continues to grow, Ernando is optimistic that he can realize his dream of bringing Persebaya Surabaya to glory at the national and international levels.
