Vitor Reis Coming Soon To Manchester City, Abdokodir Khusanov Following

JAKARTA - Vitor Reis, who will join Manchester City, bid farewell to his Palmeiras team-mate.

Palmeiras has yet to register Vitor Reis for Campeonato Paulista 2025.

Reis was no longer involved in the Palmeiras training session on Tuesday, January 14, 2025, local time. However, he was seen at the club's facility to say goodbye to his teammates and staff members.

With negotiations between Manchester City and Palmeiras already entering the advanced stage, the club based in Sao Paulo has crossed out Reis from the squad for Campeonato Paulista 2025.

Palmeiras president Julisa confirmed earlier this week that official bids had come from Manchester City for Reis, but the price was below the asking price.

However, The Citizens raised their bid to 35 million euros for Reis on Tuesday (January 14, 2025) and Palmeiras reportedly agreed to the deal.

If the transfer is carried out, the fee will be a Brazilian league record (Serie A Brasl) for a defender.

That figure surpassed the 20 million euros spent by Paris Saint-Germain for Lucas Beraldo's move from Sao Paulo in 2023.

Reis, who turns 19 on Sunday, January 12, 2024, is expected to travel to England in the coming days to undergo a medical examination before signing his contract with Manchester City.

The Brazilian giant hopes to reach an agreement with Manchester City so that Reis stays at Palmeiras until after the Club World Cup in July 2025.

However, Palmeiras has accepted The Citizens' offer for the players to join them in this winter transfer window, January 2025.

Reis scored twice in 22 professional games since being promoted to the Palmeiras first team in June 2024.

His contract with Palmeiras expires in December 2028 and he has a release clause of 100 million euros.

Meanwhile, it turns out that not only Reis will come to Etihad in the near future. Another new young talent, Abdokodir Khusanov, also traveled to Manchester for a medical examination on Thursday, January 16, 2025.

Abdukodir Khusanov is a 20-year-old Lens defender projected to patch Nathan Ake's dead hole, Manuel Akanji, Ruben Dias, and John Stones who are in crisis.

Manchester City has reportedly approved the fee to bring the Uzbekistann player.
