PSM Makassar Satisfied With Appeal Received And Sanctions Removed

PSM Makassar did not get sanctions and fines in the match case against Barito Putera (Instagram/@psm_makassar).

JAKARTA - PSM Makassar said they were satisfied and welcomed the success of their appeal against the PSSI Disciplinary Commission (Komdis) sanctions. The appeal was filed regarding the controversy in the match against Barito Putera.

The management represented by Muhammad Nur Fajri stated that PSM was satisfied with the appeal decision they made. The result made Juku Eja regardless of the sanctions that had been set.

"Based on our letter, PSM's appeal was accepted so that the PSM sanction decision was declared null and void," said Nur Fajri in an official statement quoted on Thursday, January 9, 2025.

"As a result, based on the decree we received, it was in accordance with our efforts and hopes," he said again.

PSM was sentenced to a loss of WO and a fine of Rp. 90 million for playing with 12 people at the end of the match against Barito Tuta on December 22, 2024.

PSM had stated that they followed the instructions of the match equipment regarding player entry and exit so that an accidental error occurred.

With their victory at the appeal level, PSM was also entitled to three points against Barito Putera. Because the 3-2 score that occurred in that match was again declared valid.

"In the sanction letter, PSM was declared defeated by WO, not a point reduction so that the three points recorded on the PSM standings board disappeared and were given to PSM opponents, in this case Barito Putera, as well as a fine of Rp 90 million."

"As a result, the sanctions given to PSM were declared non-existent, be it sanctions in the form of fines of Rp. 90 million or WO loss sanctions with a score of 3-0."

"Everything will return to normal, the score returns 3-2 for PSM, then those who enter the ball are legally recorded as goalscorers."

"Then the three points reduced by LIB were returned to PSM and the sanctions of Rp. 90 million were declared non-existent," said Nur Fajrin.

After the sanctions were canceled, PSM is now 11th with 24 points from 17 matches that have been played.

Although still sitting in 11th position, PSM is only four points away from Bali United who is in fourth place. This means that PSM has a good opportunity to be able to push to the top if they consistently win.
