Rajawali Medan Targets To Qualify For The 2025 IBL Playoff Round

JAKARTA - The proud basketball team for residents of Medan City, North Sumatra (North Sumatra), Rajawali Medan (RJM), is targeting to qualify for the 2025 Indonesian Basketball League (IBL) playoffs, which begin on January 11.

Assistant Coach Rajawali Medan Moosa Permadi said the ranks of coaches and players had committed to perform better than the previous season.

"It is realistic that we are targeting to qualify in the upcoming playoffs," Moosa said when contacted by ANTARA in Jakarta, Friday.

He further said that the target could be achieved if the players were able to appear stable in every match, at least winning every home game.

He added that the victory over a total of 13 home games was very realistic to achieve, to help escort the team through the regular round.

"Our other target is still the same, trying to win in every game," he said.

For IBL 2025, Rajawali Medan carried out many squad reshuffles to compete with 13 other clubs.

Based on IBL data, after being left by star players, namely Respati Ragil, the club that is proud to be a resident of Medan City, North Sumatra is now focusing on developing young players including Jordan Oei, totaling Hetero, Alexandro Manuel, and Muhammad Bayu Keanu Syahputra.

In fact, Manuel, Keanu and added David E. Frans became a beginner or rookie in the club's list of names (rosters).

For foreign players, the services of Quintin Dove are needed again for this season. Coupled with Dennis Clifford and Christopher Navell Seeley who help from their respective centers and forwards.

In the rosters announced Friday (27/12/2024), Rajawali is inhabited by a total of 17 players to face a total of 26 regular round matches, consisting of 13 home and away matches each.

In the 2024 Indonesian Basketball League (IBL), Rajawali Medan is ranked ninth in the standings out of a total of 14 participants. As for entering the playoffs, the participating teams must at least rank eight at least.
