League Results 1: Persebaya Falls In Bali United's Hands

JAKARTA - Persebaya Surabaya fell in an away match against Bali United in the 17th week of the 2024/2025 Indonesian League 1 competition.

Bajul Ijo, who currently sits at the top of the standings, lost 0-2 while visiting the I Wayan Dipta Stadium, Bali, on Saturday, December 28, 2024 evening WIB.

The home team's two winning goals were all scored in the second half, each through Private Mbarga in the 63rd minute and Irfan Jaya three minutes later.

This result brought Bali United to move up to fifth in the standings. They now have 27 points, only one point adrift of Arema FC in fourth place.

This is the eighth victory of the team nicknamed Serdadu Tridatu. On the other hand, this is Persebaya's second defeat this season.

However, Bajul Ijo is still solid at the top of the standings. The squad of coach Paul Munster has collected 37 points so far.

They are now ahead as many as two points from Persib Bandung who trailed in second place. Persib also has the opportunity to move up to the top if they win against Persis Solo on Sunday, December 29.

Persebaya will then face PSS Sleman in the second week of January, while Bali will undergo a home match with Persik Kediri.
