PSM Awaits Wanggai's Condition Ahead Of The Semi-Finals Of The Menpora Cup Against Persija

JAKARTA - PSM Makassar coach Syamsuddin Batola has not been able to confirm his attacker, Patrich Wanggai can already be demoted or not in the semifinal match of the Menpora Cup against Persija Jakarta, at Maguwoharjo Stadium, Sleman, Yogyakarta, Thursday (15/4) tomorrow.

"For Wanggai, we will see again because there is still a short training session. Hopefully he can be primed and I will show for tomorrow," Syamsudin said during a virtual press conference ahead of the semi-finals of the Menpora Cup quoted by Antara on Wednesday.

Wanggai, the striker from Nabire, was injured in the first match against Persija in the preliminary round of Group B, Monday, March 22.

Due to his injury, Wanggai was forced to miss two 2021 Menpora Cup group B matches against Bhayangkara FC and Borneo FC.l, including a quarter-final match against Barito Putera.

Facing the semi-final match, Syamsudin admitted optimistic in the match against Persija Jakarta because PSM had met before with Tiger Kemayoran and won 2-0 in the first match.

"Yesterday, I've seen the field, official training, seeing the children. We're all set for tomorrow's game," he said.

Anticipating a yellow card, he admitted, psm players always put pressure on the game hard in every game, including facing Persija Jakarta because they want to give the best performance.

"It means that the children will want to show the best game because we know Persija the best team, have quality players, good foreign players. That's what our players are passionate about showing their game," he said.

A total of four teams have qualified for the semi-finals of the Menpora Cup, namely PSM Makassar, Persija Jakarta, Persib Bandung, and PSS Sleman.

Furthermore, the four teams will undergo a semifinal match scheduled to take place from 15-19 April in two legs, namely at Maguwoharjo Sleman Stadium and Manahan Solo Stadium.

The first leg, Persija will meet with PSM Makassar on Thursday, April 15, 2021, while Persib will compete against PSS Sleman on Friday, April 16, 2021.

Both matches will be held at the home of PSS Sleman, namely Maguwoharjo Stadium, Sleman, Yogyakarta.

The second leg, PSM Makassar against Persija on Sunday, April 18, 2021, while PSS again met Persib on Monday, April 19 at Manahan Stadium Solo.
