Tottenham Coach Confronts His Own Supporter After Losing To Bournemouth

Tottenham Hotspur manager Ange Postecoglou confronted supporters themselves after a narrow 0-1 defeat to Bournemout at Vitaly Stadium in the 14th week of the Premier League, Friday, December 6, 2024, early morning WIB.

The Australian coach said that Spurs supporters who went away also pressed him.

The cheers were heard from Spurs supporters after the final whistle sounded and Postecoglou got into several conversations.

"They are disappointed, it is true. They gave me some direct input that I think is acceptable."

"Maybe not for here, my friend. I don't mind it. I don't like what is said because I'm human, but you have to accept it."

"I've been working in this world for a long time to know that if things don't go well, you have to understand the frustration," Postecoglou told reporters after the game.

Postecoglou's side have been unrecognized since beating Manchester City 4-0 in their last away game.

They looked less excited and conceded from a simple set-up ball.

Spurs have now lost six of their 14 league games this season and are in 10th place in the standings, behind Bournemouth.

Postecoglou faces several crucial weeks if this season doesn't start to fall apart. His team will host Chelsea who are on the rise on Sunday, December 8, 2024, and travel to Rangers for an important Europa League match next week, December 13, 2024.

Then, after traveling to Southampton's bottom club on December 16, 2024, they will face Manchester United in the Carabao Cup quarter-finals on December 20, 2024.

Before entering the festive season, Tottenham still had one more tough game, hosting leaders Liverpool on December 22, 2024.

"All I can say is that I am really disappointed with tonight. I am determined to do it right. I will continue to fight until we succeed," said Postecoglou.

Ben Davies' injury adds to his misery. In fact, the 31-year-old player is more natural at the left-back post.

The change in position had to be made due to the absence of Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven. Davies also performed well at the center-back post, but he missed the match ahead.

"It looks like the hamstring is injured. He (Davies) and Radu (Dragusin) have played every game."

"It's the only position we can't change. He's clearly going to be out for some time. We just have to wait and see how long it's a consequence of the squad we have," said Postecoglou.
