Liverpool Failed To Win After Conceding In The Last Minute Against Newcastle

JAKARTA - The match was tight when Liverpool drew 3-3 against host Newcastle United in the English Premier League match at St James' Park Stadium, Thursday, December 5, 2024 in the morning WIB.

Liverpool were always left behind before taking a 3-2 lead after Mohamed Salah scored a brace when he visited Newcastle's headquarters. But Liverpool ultimately failed to maintain that advantage.

Defender Fabian Schar saved Newcastle from defeat. The draw made Newcastle still struggling in the middle board. They are ranked 10th with 20 points.

The Magpies' points were the same as Tottenham Hotspur and Brentford FC. However, Newcastle's goal difference was the smallest so the two teams were ranked eighth and ninth.

Meanwhile, Liverpool is still perched at the top of the standings. However, The Pool failed to maintain a point distance with its competitors. Liverpool, who have points 35, are only seven points ahead of Chelsea who successfully slaughtered Southampton 5-1.

In that match, Liverpool were hot late. On the other hand, Newcastle started the match very well. They were able to pressure the opponent and force Liverpool to strengthen the defense sector.

But Liverpool's goal finally broke after striker Alexander Isak scored in the 35th minute. Isak was caught off guard by defender Virgil van Dijk before releasing a spectacular shot that goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelneck failed to save.

But when Liverpool were expected to win 3-2, Newcastle managed to equalize the score. They also shared points with Liverpool after Schar managed to take advantage of Kelekera's mistake to score a goal towards the end of the match. The score changed to 3-3 for both teams and lasted until the game was over.
