Shin Tae-yong Asks People To Fully Support The Indonesian National Team In The 2024 AFF Cup

Shin Tae-yong asked for the full support of the community for the appearance of the Indonesian national team in the 2024 AFF Cup (VOI/Ferry Tri Adi Sasono).

JAKARTA - The Indonesian national team coach, Shin Tae-yong, asked the public to give full support to the Red-White Squad which will appear in the 2024 AFF Cup starting December 9, 2024. This was stated by the coach considering that the composition of the squad is currently mostly filled with young players.

According to Shin Tae-yong, the maximum support provided by Indonesian fans will greatly affect young players so that they are motivated to perform optimally for the best results.

"The preparation of the AFF Cup with Indonesian U-22 national team players is carried out in Bali. We ask for your support so that our young talents can score achievements in this tournament," wrote Shin Tae-yong in an upload on his personal Instagram account quoted on Tuesday, December 3, 2024.

For Shin Tae-yong, his decision to include the majority of young players in the 2024 AFF Cup is in preparation to build a team.

The reason is, the U-22 team will be prepared to face the 2025 SEA Games in Thailand.

For the 2024 AFF Cup, Shin Tae-yong has made preparations by calling 33 players to attend the training camp (TC) in Bali.

From the names summoned, the South Korean coach only included eight players who were part of the regularity of the senior Indonesian national team.

The players are Justin Hubner, Asnawi Mangkualam, Muhammad Ferrari, Pratama Arhan, Ivar Jenner, Marselino Ferdinand, Rafael Struick, and Hokky Caraka.

"The AFF Cup is a big event that is also an opportunity for young players to develop. They have great potential to encourage the progress of Indonesian football in the future," said Shin.

In the 2024 AFF Cup which starts rolling from December 8, 2024 to January 5, 2025, the Indonesian national team is in Group B with Laos, Myanmar, the Philippines, and Vietnam.
