Not Yet Joining The Indonesian National Team TC, The Possibility Of Justin Hubner And Ivar Jenner Appearing In The 2024 AFF Cup Is Small

Justin Hubner is unlikely to join the Indonesian national team in the 2024 AFF Cup (VOI/Ferry Tri Adi Sasono).

JAKARTA - The manager of the Indonesian national team, Sumardji, expressed his views on the chance for Justin Hubner and Ivar Jenner to appear in the 2024 AFF Cup. This is also related to the condition of the two players who have not joined the Indonesian national team training camp (TC) in Bali.

Previously, Shin Tae-yong called 33 players to join TC in preparation for appearing in the 2024 AFF Cup, seven of whom were players playing abroad or abroad.

However, from the abroad players who were on the list, several players experienced problems joining the Indonesian national team in the 2024 AFF Cup.

The reason is that the 2024 AFF Cup agenda is not a FIFA calendar. That way, the club has the right not to release its players. This is also what happened to Justin Hubner and Ivar Jenner.

Regarding the abroad player who has yet to join, Sumardji said he continues to discuss with Shin Tae-yong as the head coach.

Sumardi also explained that Justin Hubner and Ivar Jenner actually had very little chance of joining the Garuda Squad.

"Regarding several players who have not been able to come to this day, I will try to discuss this with coach Shin Tae-yong," Sumardji said in a statement quoted Monday, December 2, 2024.

"Some abroad players have said they may not be able to come. Like Justin (Hubner) to this day there is no news, the possibility of not joining."

"Then there are several players like Ivar (Jenner) who have not received any news to this day. I am still communicating with Ivar and his club, but it is also unlikely," said Sumardji again.

Seeing this situation, Sumardji also could not confirm whether there would be a change in the squad. You see, it is absolutely the coach's authority.

"So, with the abroad players unable to come, of course we discussed whether to bring the current squad who have been summoned or called other players? Of course this all goes back to coach Shin Tae-yong because he has the right to call," he said.

The Indonesian national team will start the struggle in the 2024 AFF Cup on December 9, 2024 against Myanmar.

The Garuda squad is in Group B with Vietnam, the Philippines, Myanmar, and Laos.
