JAKARTA The Professional Fighters League (PFL) champion, Francis Ngannou, hinted at his interest in fighting against the current UFC heavyweight king, Jon Jones.
Ngannou seemed to want the duel to materialize when he responded to a Jones tweet on social media X replying to critics over accusations he was trying to avoid interim champion Tom Aspinall.
In that response, Ngannou seemed to support Jones and added that there was still one big fight for him out there that could increase his legacy.
"Gifts make haters feel uncomfortable, but they can't change it. There is only one fight, the right fight will double thanks to you," Ngannou wrote.
Ngannou then ended his statement with a hashtag that read #NgannouVsJones. It also echoed support for IPL CEO Peter Murray, who wants the Ngannou vs Jones duel.

Murray was previously asked on the sidelines of the 2024 IPL World Championships in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, about the possibility of Jones fighting Ngannou. He also replied that the duel was awaited by many people.
"The fighters want the fight, Jon Jones wants the fight, Francis wants the fight, we want the fight," he said.
Ngannou and Jones had hinted at the possibility of a duel when the two were still on the UFC athlete list. However, Ngannou released the UFC title in 2023 to join the PFL.
After that, Jones then switched from light heavyweight to UFC heavyweight. In the division, he was also recorded as winning two championship matches.
The idea of bringing Ngannou and Jones together was ranked second and third respectively MMA Fighting Global Rankings for various arenas. However, their clashes were considered tempting.
