First Physical Exercise Ahead Of The 2024 AFF Cup, Indonesian National Team Players Were Overwhelmed

JAKARTA - The Indonesian national team is undergoing a training camp (TC) agenda in Bali in preparation for appearing in the 2024 AFF Cup.

Players have started to gather on November 27, 2024. The Garuda squad, which is mostly inhabited by U-22 players, was overwhelmed during physical training.

The head coach of the Indonesian national team, Shin Tae-yong, has called 33 names to take part in the TC in Bali. The inaugural exercise agenda starts on Thursday, November 28, 2024. At the meeting, Shin Tae-yong divided the training menu into two sessions.

Kadek Arel, who was also involved, said that the training session which took place at the Bali United Training Center, Gianyar, was quite fun.

"Today starts the first day of training. This morning there was a game session, then in the afternoon we had an adaptation exercise for physical improvement," said Bali United defender Kadek Arel, in an official PSSI release quoted on Friday, November 29, 2024.

"I think this is a good training method. I am very happy and proud to be back in training with coach Shin Tae-yong."

"Hopefully we can bring the Indonesian national team to win the AFF Cup this time," said Kadek again.

After the training session, Kadek Arel admitted that the Indonesian national team players were overwhelmed by undergoing physical training on the first day.

However, according to him, this is common in the team after a long time without undergoing a joint training menu.

"Incidentally on the first day, it must be the first day of training adaptation. It was very difficult for me."

"However, coach Shin Tae-yong said he had to force himself. The friends were all maximal and hopefully all of them are useful," said Kadek Arel.

Despite admitting that he faced difficulties on the first day of training with Shin Tae-yong, Kadek Arel said the Indonesian national team players were still full of enthusiasm to reap maximum results in the 2024 AFF Cup.

"Of course we hope that we can bring the Indonesian national team to win the 2024 AFF Cup. Hopefully we can give achievements to the Indonesian people," said the 19-year-old player.

The 2024 AFF Cup will start rolling from early December 2024 to January 2025. On the biennial agenda, the Indonesian national team is in Group B with Vietnam, Myanmar, Laos, and the Philippines.

In the group phase, Shin Tae-yong's team will undergo their first match against Myanmar. The match has the status of an away match which will take place on December 9, 2024.
