JAKARTA The Indonesian Women's Esports National Team number Mobile Legends: Bang-Bang (MLBB) managed to escape as the champion of the 2024 Asian Esports Games.

Vivi Indrawaty and his friends confirmed the gold medal after defeating the Philippines in the Grand Final round at the Hua Mak Indoor Stadium, Bangkok, Thailand, on Wednesday, November 27, 2024.

"The title of champion at the 2024 Asian Esports Championships further strengthens Indonesia's position as one of the world's esports forces," said Chairman of the Indonesian Esports National Team, Tjahjono Prasetyanto, in a written statement.

The final match used the best of seven (BO7) format or looked for four wins first. Indonesia then locked the victory with a score of 4-2.

Indonesia had to cross a winding road because the Philippines put up a strong fight. The first four games were in a draw before Indonesia secured the fifth and sixth games.

"The Grand Final match against the Philippines is a big challenge for us. However, in the last two matches, we managed to dominate to win a gold medal," said the coach of the Indonesian Women's MLBB national team, Ilyas Rahmanda.

This title complements the success of the Indonesian Women's Esports National Team, which is also the world champion in the IESF World Esports Championship 2024 esports event in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, last week.
