Kontras Fajar/Rian Results In Two Weeks

Men's doubles pair Fajar Alfian/Muhammad Rian Ardianto in the second round of the 2024 China Masters (doc. PBSI).

JAKARTA Men's doubles pair, former world number one, Fajar Alfian/Muhammad Rian Ardianto, got so much contrast in just two weeks.

It happened after they were eliminated in the second round of the 2024 China Masters after losing against South Korean representatives, Jin Yong/Seo Seung-jae, two straight games 20-22 and 7-21 on Thursday, November 21, 2024, WIB night.

The pair won the All England 2024 actually in a superior position in the first game, but failed to take advantage of the momentum.

Meanwhile, in the second game of fierce resistance they did not show at all after the opponent started by scoring 10 consecutive points.

"The opponent plays very close, very solid, doesn't die easily, and doesn't make his own mistakes."

"On the other hand, we were too in a hurry to add points and backfired," said Fajar.

Fajar/Rian were in a positive note when they were present to be part of the BWF Super 750 level tournament.

The reason is, they closed last weekend by becoming champions at the 2024 Japanese Kumamoto Masters, which is their second title in this year's calendar after All England in March 2024.

Furthermore, Fajar/Rian will prepare to play in the closing tournament of the 2024 BWF World Tour Finals season in early December 2024 in China.

"We want to prepare well and most importantly take care of my health. I was sick before going through these two tournaments and I didn't feel 100 percent of my body yet," said Fajar.

Fajar/Rian are one of two Indonesian representatives who were eliminated in the second round of the 2024 China Masters. They returned with the men's singles Chico Aura Dwi Wardoyo.

Indonesia still has four representatives who survive, namely Febriana Dwi Puji Kusuma/Amallia Cahaya Pratiwi, Sabar Karyaman Gutama/Mohammad Reza Pahlevi Isfahanu, Dejan Ferdinansyah/Gloria Emanuelle Widjaja, and Jonatan Christie.
