Shin Tae-yong Tanjung Players And Supporters Of The Indonesian National Team

Shin Tae-yong praised the performance of the players and thanked the Indonesian national team supporters (doc. AFC).

JAKARTA - The Indonesian national team coach, Shin Tae-yong, was able to bring the team to win against Saudi Arabia in the sixth match of the 2026 World Cup Qualification Third Round.

After the match, the coach did not hesitate to praise the hard work of the players and the enthusiasm of the supporters which he considered quite influential in this match.

The Indonesian and Saudi Arabia national teams met at the Gelora Bung Karno (SUGBK) Main Stadium, Jakarta, on Tuesday, November 19, 2024. The Garuda squad won 2-0 through the Marselino Ferdinand brace.

This result is the first victory for the Garuda Squad during the Third Round of the 2026 World Cup Qualifiers.

Successfully breaking eggs, Shin Tae-yong did not forget to praise the performance of his players on the field. Not only the player, the South Korean coach also thanked the supporters who triggered the spirit of winning players on the field.

This victory made the position of the Indonesian national team in Group C standings immediately shot up. The Garuda squad, which was previously in the caretaker position, rose to third place.

Marselino and his friends are currently packing six points from six matches they have played.

On the other hand, the defeat to the Indonesian national team made Saudi Arabia drop to fourth in Group C standings by pocketing six points as well.

They lost in terms of goal productivity after being balanced about goal difference with the Indonesian national team (-3).

After the match against Saudi Arabia, the Indonesian national team still has four more matches.

The Indonesian national team will face Australia on March 20, 2025 in Australia, then host Bahrain on March 25, 2025 at SUGBK.
