Scored 2 Winning Goals, Marselino Ferdinand: Players Are Desperate For The Indonesian National Team

Marselino Ferdinand scored two goals for the Indonesian national team's victory over Saudi Arabia (doc. AFC).

JAKARTA - The Indonesian national team striker, Marselino Ferdinand, managed to become a differentiator in the match against Saudi Arabia in the Third Round of the 2026 World Cup Qualifiers. Through the two goals he created, the Garuda Squad managed to get the first three points.

After the match which was held at the Gelora Bung Karno Main Stadium (SUGBK), Jakarta, on Tuesday, November 19, 2024, Marselino was also named Man of The Match.

The player who now plays with Oxford United does not feel like he is the sole figure in this victory.

He admitted that what was achieved in that match was the desperately hard work carried out by the entire squad and the support of all supporters of the Indonesian national team.

"We worked really hard today. We need this victory. Thank you to everyone. Thank you for supporting us all," said Marselino after the match between Indonesia vs Saudi Arabia.

"We evaluated after the defeat against Japan. We played one determination, one goal, desperately for Indonesia," he said.

This victory from Saudi Arabia made the Indonesian national team shot from the bottom position to third place in Group C standings.

The Indonesian national team has now packed six points from six matches that have been played.

On the other hand, the defeat to the Garuda Squad made Saudi Arabia drop to fourth in Group C standings by pocketing six points. They lost in terms of goal productivity after the difference in Saudi Arabia's goals was the same as that of the Indonesian national team (-3).
