JAKARTA The Indonesian Badminton Association (PBSI) has spoken out regarding rumors of the men's singles coach Irwansyah joining the Indian Badminton Association (BAI).
The General Chairperson of PBSI, Fadil Imran, said that until now the information was still limited to rumors because no official report had been received by PBSI.
"There is no (report) yet. Irwansyah has not reported it to PBSI. I asked the current management, has not officially reported it," said Fadil at the PBSI National Training Center on Monday, November 18, 2024.
Information regarding Irwansyah joining India to become the women's and men's singles sector coach was first written by The Times of India media last week.
The report states that Irwansyah will replace the coach from Indonesia, Agus Dwi Santoso. Irwansyah will be assisted by Dwi Kristiawan who has served in India since 2011.

"I also just read on social media. I've never met him, let alone called. So, ask social media or Irwansyah," said Fadil.
However, the possibility of Irwansyah moving to India is very open. The reason is, the position of the coach can change under Fadil's leadership for the 2024-2028 term of service.
Currently Fadil is preparing a new management composition under his command. To find the best composition in the new structure, PBSI even collaborated with consultants.
According to the plan, the composition of this new management will be completed a week before Fadil and his subordinates are sworn in at the end of this month.
